Back to Frog Pond

Not a great photo but who cares. My version of Koolhaas is now history.

Now, I consider myself a master of knitting. I've done just about everything in the 30 odd years I've been knitting. I teach knitting, I understand knitting, I eat, sleep and breathe knitting. But this pattern has me kerfaffled! I was fine up until I reached the second round of the decreases. Then - kerfluey! The pattern made no sense to me, the stitches didn't seem to line up the way I thought they should and I was beyond frustrated.

Couple that with the obvious shortage of this one-of-a-kind, hand-painted yarn and I was done. Koolhaas has bit the dust.

Maybe there is enough yarn for some Maine Morning Mitts?

Meh . . .

Ack. Well, you can't win 'em all, I guess. Or at least not on the first try. ;-)

Sacrificing a hat to make Maine Morning Mitts is acceptable! I easily made a pair with one skein of Noro. Not realizing this, I'd purchased two skeins. What's a girl to do but knit up a second pair?

Now I'm dealing with a MMM addiction but that's another story for another day...

Which project was the Koolhaas? Oh, I see, a hat. Ahh - mitts don't mess up your hair!

Hope your missing player is back soon - we have a rematch scrimmage this morning with Prior Lake - we'll see if we can avoid those Majors this time.

Kerfaffled! Dang it! The red is so beautiful - what a shame! (And by the way, I second your knitting prowess!!)

And what is Koolhaas anyway?

How frustrating! I hate it when a pattern just won't work out. Maybe the yarn was playing tricks on you so it could be mittens.
