First official 2007 Resolution FO

This FO is actually a total surprise. I ran across this scarf UFO while cleaning my studio and organizing my stash. I'd been trying to locate all my Denise needles and cables, since I had quite a few of them MIA. And this ruffled scarf happened to be on some of my Denise needles.
The only reason this scarf was a UFO was because it was one of those situations where I knew I didn't have enough yarn to bind off and since there was a significant amount of mohair in the yarn, I'd never be able to tink or frog it back. In disgust, I tossed it aside until today.
When I found it, I sat and stared at it for a few moments and then had one of those "Eureka" moments. Why couldn't I bind off from the wrong end? The scarf was on a circular needle, so I just started binding off from the far side. When I reached the end with the tail, I pulled the end through and everything was hunky-dory. Woohoo. So, technically, I only have to finish 2 more UFO's to be allowed to cast on with my Socks That Rock. Which I just happened to get wound into two equal balls today.
Relating to my previous post, Guinifer asked where I box. I happen to go to a gym called Gorilla Combat in Chanhassen. They teach both traditional boxing and Muay Thai, as well as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I've done both traditional boxing and Muay Thai (my favorite) but never tried Jiu-Jitsu. When asked why I box, I started as a date night with my spouse. We started taking kick-boxing together for fun and fitness. After a few years, we found Gorilla and continued progressing in our skills. Now I take boxing as a form of exercise and as a form of self-defense. I know I'll never win a bar fight against a 200 lb. man but my goal is to surprise and incapacitate him long enough to get away.
Well, off to dance and to work on one more UFO. I'm on a roll!

I just found one of the ruffled scarves in the finished pile (also in mohair) and gave it the my stylist. She loved it. I didn't particularly enjoy knitting it (soooo many stitches) but I loved how it came out.

I've never tried boxing given my utter lack of coordination. I think it's cool that you do that. It must be a great workout!
